This photo project is dedicated to Petrivka – a large flea market in Kyiv, which has become a symbol of the past and present intertwined in one place. Here, you can find a lot of Soviet-era junk, but amidst it, there are true treasures – old Kosiv candlesticks or vases made by Lviv artisans in the 70s.
Petrivka is also a place to meet interesting characters. One man, noticing I was photographing him, warned me that he might not show up in the photo, as he considered himself as evil spirit. Another invited me into his shop and gave a lecture on porcelain, revealing that he was a lecturer at an art school in Kyiv. Time seems to stand still at Petrivka, and this place preserves a unique atmosphere that combines history, culture, and people.
