"Diary of a Stranger" is a project about self-reflection as a photographer. I find beauty in capturing genuine moments of people's lives, whether they notice me or not. Some of them see me taking their picture, while others remain unaware. One particular memory stands out—when I tried to photograph a girl near the metro, but a van started parking right in my frame, blocking the shot. It was quite comical, and the girl noticed, and we both laughed. This led to us getting to know each other, and eventually, we became friends. I visited her often; she taught me how to make collages, and I taught her to play the drums. We spent time together, talking about our fears of an all-out war, while joking about our parents who were worried and urged us to leave Kyiv.
For some, I remain a stranger, but for others, I become someone they’re curious to meet, and for some, I become a friend.
